The Thessaloniki International Film Festival organizes as part of its year-round activities and in cooperation with the Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health (CSRH) hosted by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.), the 10th Sex, Issues and Cinema Panorama. The aim of such an effort is audience sensitization in regard to issues of relationships, sexual health and taboo subjects.

The Science and Society Center (Caid) presents, in a collaboration with TIFF, the 4th International Science Films Festival, which was recently held in Athens. For the first time, Thessaloniki’s audience will have the opportunity to watch scientific documentaries dealing with the most pressing issues of our time, aptly capturing the achievements of scientific research.

Το Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο των προφεστιβαλικών εκδηλώσεων για την 50η του επέτειο (13-22 Νοεμβρίου) συνδιοργανώνει το Σινεμά στο Πιάτο, ένα πρωτοποριακό κινηματογραφικό αφιέρωμα που αναδεικνύει τη σχέση του σινεμά με τη γαστρονομία.

Tribute to the modern cinema of India at OLYMPION (PAVLOS ZANNAS theatre), in the framework of the 74th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). The tribute is part of a series of scheduled events focusing on India, TIF’s honored country for the year 2009, and involves the screening of seven films, showcasing the modern film production of India

Tο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο της ετήσιας δραστηριότητάς του και με αφορμή των εορτασμό των 50 χρόνων του, επεκτείνει τη δραστηριότητά του στη Χαλκιδική και εγκαινιάζει τη συνεργασία με το Sani Festival, παρουσιάζοντας ένα αφιέρωμα με τίτλο «Music on Film vs. Film on Music», που πραγματοποιείται από τις 30 Ιουλίου έως τις 2 Αυγούστου 2009 στο Sani Resort.

Το Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο της ετήσιας δραστηριότητάς του και σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Σεξουαλικής και Αναπαραγωγικής Υγείας του Α.Π.Θ. (Κ.Ε.Σ.Α.Υ.), παρουσιάζουν για ένατη συνεχή χρονιά το κινηματογραφικό αφιέρωμα «Sex, προβλήματα και σινεμά». Το αφιέρωμα περιλαμβάνει έξι μεγάλου μήκους ταινίες και θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην αίθουσα Παύλος Ζάννας από τις 31 Μαΐου έως τις 5 Ιουνίου.

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival organizes as part of its year-round activities the 11th Panorama of Gay & Lesbian Films with the support of the Goethe Institute of Thessaloniki and Thessaloniki French Consulate and in collaboration with the Cooperation Against Homophobia organization.

The French Institute of Athens and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival present the 10e Festival Du Film Francophone in Thessaloniki, at OLYMPION theatre, from April 9th till April 15th 2009.

Thessaloniki International Film Festival, in the context of its annual activity and on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary from the Adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, presents at Olympion (Pavlos Zannas Theatre) short films from ten countries dealing with the issue of Human Rights. The tribute is held in collaboration with Goethe Institute and the Greek branch of Amnesty International in Thessaloniki.

The 49th Film Festival of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with action groups of the Amnesty International Greek Department of Thessaloniki, is holding its annual tribute for the Human Rights. The Tribute will take place from 9th to 15th October 2008 in Olympion Cinemas (Aristotelous sq.)

Το Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο της ετήσιας δραστηριότητάς του, σε συνεργασία με την Barrio Cultural παρουσιάζει, ένα κινηματογραφικό αφιέρωμα στο τάνγκο που εντάσσεται στο πρόγραμμα εκδηλώσεων του 2ου Φεστιβάλ Τάνγκο Θεσσαλονίκης (28 Σεπτεμβρίου - 19 Οκτωβρίου 2008). Το αφιέρωμα θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Ολύμπιον και η είσοδος στο κοινό είναι ελεύθερη.

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Italian Embassy in Greece are co-organizing a tribute to modern Italian cinema. Titled "Italy: The new frames. Cinema notes on a changing society", the tribute is organized at the occasion of Italy's participation as the honorary country in the 73d Thessaloniki's International Fair and will be hosted at Olympion from 5-10 September 2008.

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival supports, as part of its year-round activities, the 3rd Student & Youth Film Festival – CRASHFEST, organized by the Film Department of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki. The Festival will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of May 2008, during the week of Student Events of the University. 95 films from 26 schools in Greece and abroad will be screened.

Το Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο της ετήσιας δραστηριότητάς του και σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Σεξουαλικής και Αναπαραγωγικής Υγείας του Α.Π.Θ. (Κ.Ε.Σ.Α.Υ.), παρουσιάζουν για όγδοη συνεχή χρονιά το κινηματογραφικό αφιέρωμα «Sex, προβλήματα και σινεμά». Το αφιέρωμα περιλαμβάνει επτά μεγάλου μήκους ταινίες και θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην αίθουσα Παύλος Ζάννας από τις 15 έως τις 21 Μαΐου.

Σύγχρονα κινηματογραφικά αριστουργήματα από τα τέλη του 20ού αιώνα και τις αρχές του 21ου, τα οποία αναμένεται να αποτελέσουν σημείο αναφοράς τις επόμενες δεκαετίες τόσο για τη σινεφίλ κουλτούρα όσο και για τους θεωρητικούς και μελετητές του σινεμά.
