KIDS LOVE CINEMA 2026-27

Amélie is a little Belgian girl born in Japan. Thanks to her friend Nishio-san, life is a succession of adventures and discoveries. But on her third birthday, a single event changes everything. Because for Amélie, everything is at stake at her age, happiness as well as tragedy... Using gorgeous, impressionistic animation to explore the formative experience of landing in an unfamiliar cultural environment at a tender age, the directorial duo adapts the bestseller by one of the most famous contemporary Belgian writers: Amélie Nothomb’s early childhood and dreamy recollections of happy years revive in soft, pastel colors and flowing shapes, unfolding the most tender palette of feelings over four different seasons. Subduedly resonating with the beloved French film of a similar namesake, and profoundly satisfying all the fans of Studio Ghibli, Little Amélie dreams big and delivers a whole new way of immersing into the image.
