GREEK SOCIETY OF CINEMATOGRAPHERS (GSC) – CINEMATOGRAPHERS SPOTLIGHT GREEK CINEMA

The Greek Society of Cinematographers (GSC) continues its collaboration with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and invites the audience to an open discussion. The event aims to invite the public behind the cameras, offering an opportunity for dialogue and interaction with the creators of the imagery themselves. Do we truly understand the pivotal role of the Cinematographer (DoP) in the creation of a film? What artistic decisions must they make, and how do lighting, camera movement, shadows, and other aesthetic choices come together to shape the magic of the big screen?

The panel will feature accomplished professional Cinematographers whose films are included in the official program of this year’s TIFF67. The open discussion with the audience will be moderated by film critic Poly Lykourgou (flix.gr).

The discussion will be conducted in Greek with simultaneous interpretation into English.
