MANGA CUT!

Inspired by the official TIFF67 poster, created by Sofia Rozaki, and by the world of popular manga, children answer the question “What does cinema mean to me?” by making their own comics. Looking closely at the poster, we explore possible answers together: cinema as a dream, an emotion, a surreal landscape, a portal.

Each child then designs a hybrid creature-symbol representing their own relationship with cinema, drawing on key features of manga, such as large expressive eyes, along with elements from nature and the imagination. Finally, in four panels, they create an imaginary dialogue between themselves and their creature.
