Future Frames

Future Frames is an annual programme hosted by the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in collaboration with European Film Promotion. Each year it selects ten promising young directors and film school graduates from across Europe and presents their short or medium-length graduation films. In 2026, acclaimed Greek director Christos Nikou served as mentor to the ten selected filmmakers, and he comes to Thessaloniki to discuss his experience of the programme. He is joined by David Champaigne, director of Self-Sown, presented at Future Frames this year, and by Dimitris Tsakaleas and Lida Vartzioti, whose film Sad Girl Weekend was featured in 2020.
