The Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival continues its regional screenings across cities in Greece through the initiative Destination - Journey.

From 5 to 15 March, the Festival hosted premieres, engaging discussions, masterclasses, exhibitions and parties, unfolding a rich and multifaceted programme.

A moving evening that brought to a close eleven days filled with cinematic discoveries, creative encounters and meaningful dialogue.

Amidst a warm and moving ambiance, turning the spotlight on documentaries, the filmmakers and the protagonists of their films, the awards ceremony of the 28th TiDF took place.

The public’s first introduction to filmography.gr, the new bilingual platform that transforms Greek cinema data into a tool for knowledge and interpretation.

A Think Tank of leading European documentary professionals took place within the framework of the Agora of the 28th TiDF, aiming to shape the future of documentary representation within the European Film Academy.

As part of the Agora of the 28th TiDF, the presentation of the projects participating in this year’s Agora Docs in Progress took place on Tuesday, March 10, at the Frida Liappa theatre.

On the occasion of a recent European report examining the pivotal role of culture in promoting mental and physical well-being, an open discussion, titled “Culture & Health: Time to Act,” took place on Tuesday, March 10th, within the framework of the 28th TiDF.

Uncovering the Hidden Frame

The discussion “Empowering the XR Ecosystem” took place on Wednesday, March 11, at the Music Center of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, as part of the Agora Talks of the 28th TiDF.

On Tuesday afternoon, March 10, the Agora Talk From Vision to Reality: Unleashing the Sustainability Superpower in Film Production took place at the Music Center of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, within the framework of the 28th TiDF.

Film director, cinematographer, screenwriter, producer and editor Yorgos Panousopoulos was behind some of the most beautiful films in the history of Greek cinema. We will always carry within us the imagery, love stories, Greek light, ambiance and landscapes featured in his films.

Through conversations with filmmakers, the 28th TiDF approaches the concept of the archive from multiple perspectives, tracing the process of memory, its preservation and its transformation.
