Two excellent new films, along with a special late night screening for Halloween await us at TFF's venues as an ideal prelude to the upcoming 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
In fact, the Festival’s venues are participating once again this year in Cinema Day, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, with a general admission of just €3 for every screening.
Do not miss out at the Festival's theaters:

- The chilling political thriller Eagles of the Republic by the Swedish-Egyptian filmmaker Tarik Saleh, screened at the Cannes Film Festival and featuring a captivating score by Alexandre Desplat, a film that begins as a satire but evolves into the boldest political film of the year. In modern-day Egypt, under the authoritarian rule of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, actor George Fahmy receives a proposal from the government, to portray el-Sisi in a propagandistic biopic, George is in no position to refuse.

- John Carpenter’s iconic Halloween, a film that established new rules for horror cinema, influenced like no other the horror iconography and played a decisive role in the shaping of the slasher genre. On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away inside a sanitarium under the care of child psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis. On October 30, 1978, Myers escapes and makes his way back home to Haddonfield, turning a night of tricks and treats into something much more sinister for three young women.
