TFF honors iconic actors of Greek cinema

A tribute evening for iconic leading figures of Greek cinema is being organized by the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Finos Film, and the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus on Monday, June 8, with arrival time at 20:00.

The event will take place at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus and will have free admission for the public, on a first-come, first-served basis. The evening follows the moving event held as part of the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in November 2025.

For their overall contribution to cinema and Greek culture, beloved leading actors from unforgettable films will be honored—artists whose legacy continues to inspire to this day. During the evening, the anniversary film “The Stars Are Forever” will be screened. Produced by the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and directed by Nikos Pastras, it features 18 actors sharing memories, stories, and behind-the-scenes moments. The film also includes iconic scenes from beloved Greek cinema classics, rare excerpts, and photographs.

The actors being honored include: Vasilis Kailas, Dimitris Kallivokas, Giorgos Konstantinou, Chloi Liaskou, Betty Livanou, Sotiris Tzevelekos, Aimilia Ypsilanti, Anna Fonsou, Angelos Antonopoulos, Eleni Anousaki, Betty Arvaniti, Nora Valsami, Giannis Vogiatzis, Vaggelis Voulgaridis, Martha Vourtsi, Kaiti Improchori, Maria Ioannidou, Xenia Kalogeropoulou, Lakis Komninos, Iro Kyriakaki, Maro Kontou, Alexandra Ladikou, Popi Lazou, Christos Nomikos, Giorgos Pantzas, Kostas Prekas, Eleni Prokopiou, Elsa Rizou, Jenny Roussea, Zouzou Sapphanta, Nikos Tsoukas, and Elli Fotiou.

The event will be hosted by actor and President of the Board of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Akis Sakellariou, and actor Stelios Mainas.
