The Olympion and Pavlos Zannas cinemas at Aristotelous Square, along with the Stavros Tornes and John Cassavetes cinemas at Warehouse 1 in the Port, welcome the new film season with new releases and a special Cinematheque tribute, inviting audiences in Thessaloniki to return to the big screen.
At the Festival cinemas, audiences can see from October 1st:
- Digger, the new film by Alejandro González Iñárritu, an outrageous comedy of catastrophic proportions, starring Tom Cruise in one of the most striking transformations of his career. The ambitious production marks the acclaimed, multi-award-winning director’s first English-language feature since The Revenant.

- NAZA, the shocking documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor about Gaza, which stunned audiences and critics at the recent Venice Film Festival. The new documentary by the Israeli filmmakers, shot in utmost secrecy at night on rooftops in Tel Aviv, focuses on the mass killings of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip and will screen exclusively at the Festival cinemas.

- The new film by Oscar-nominated Ildikó Enyedi, who made a triumphant return with The Silent Friend. The acclaimed, award-winning film, which had its Greek premiere at the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, revolves around a majestic century-old tree that, for more than a hundred years, observes the quiet rhythms of transformation unfolding across three human lives.

- The opening programme of the Thessaloniki Cinematheque’s new season, the Cinema Rediscovered tribute, a selection of 20 films from the screening programme of the Hellenic Film Academy.
