Submissions for the renewed Agora of the 67th TIFF are now open!

This year, Agora gets a fresh new look, as it is enhanced and renewed through a dynamic new framework of initiatives that will be announced very soon. Shortly before unveiling its new identity, we invite you to submit your films and projects to the industry section of the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
Agora consistently supports cinema from our wider geographical region, with a special focus on countries from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean. The countries eligible to submit projects and films to the Agora are: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo*, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine. Supported by the European programme Creative Europe MEDIA, TFF’s Agora invites filmmakers to submit their film projects and works.
Projects that do not originate from one of the countries listed above, but feel that the programme aligns with their development strategy, are also welcome to apply. All applications will be considered by the selection committee.

CROSSROADS CO-PRODUCTION FORUM
7-12 November 2026
Final submission deadline: June 10, 2026
The Crossroads Co-production Forum aims to support producers of feature-length fiction films connected to the Mediterranean, Southeastern and Central European regions. Eligible projects include productions or co-productions from countries within these regions, as well as films whose stories are specifically linked to these geographical areas. Producers of the selected projects in development will have the opportunity to present and discuss their projects with producers, distributors, sales agents and leading industry professionals from across the field of film production.
Films previously presented as projects at the Crossroads Co-Production Forum include Hold Onto Me by Myrsidou Aristeidou (Sundance Film Festival – World Cinema Dramatic Competition – Audience Award), On Our Own by Tudor Cristian Jurgiu (Berlin International Film Festival – Forum), Kyuka Before Summer’s End by Kostis Charamountanis (Cannes Film Festival – ACID Cannes), The Summer with Carmen by Zacharias Mavroeidis (Venice Film Festival – Giornate degli Autori), Blaga’s Lessons by Stephan Komandarev (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival), Inshallah a Boy by Amjad Al Rasheed (Cannes Film Festival – Semaine de la Critique), 20,000 Species of Bees by Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren (Berlin International Film Festival – Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance), and many more.

AGORA WORKS IN PROGRESS

The Agora Works in Progress section of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s Agora hosts screenings exclusively for accredited Agora guests, presented to producers, sales agents, distributors and festival representatives attending the 67th edition. Through these screenings, industry professionals have the opportunity to be the first to discover feature films from the Mediterranean, Central and Southeastern Europe at a stage just before their completion.

AGORA SERIES TALENTS

Final submission deadline: June 30, 2026
Following the pilot kick-off of the Agora Series Talents in 2025, the programme returns featuring an annual open call for submission. AGORA Series Talents aims to support both emerging and established screenwriters based in Greece. The selected screenwriters will attend a range of workshops, masterclasses and 1:1 meetings targeted at the development of their projects, alongside international and Greek tutors. Finally, the screenwriters will have a chance to present both their professional profile and their projects to the industry guests of the Agora.
THESSALONIKI LOCARNO INDUSTRY ACADEMY
7-12 November 2026
Applications will open on 13 July 2026
Final submission deadline: 17 August 2026
The Thessaloniki International Film Festival, in collaboration with the Locarno Film Festival, co-organises the Thessaloniki Locarno Industry Academy, a training programme designed to help emerging film and new media professionals specialising in film promotion and distribution expand both their expertise and professional network in the fields of international sales, marketing, distribution and film programming.
