From the Idea to the World: The Journey of Greek Films

Ioanna Bolomyti is a film producer and founder of Atalante Productions. She has produced award-winning feature and short films presented at major international festivals including Venice, Sundance, Toronto, Locarno and Tallinn Black Nights. Her filmography includes Behind the Haystacks by Asimina Proedrou, Tailor by Sonia Liza Kenterman, The Summer with Carmen by Zacharias Mavroeidis and The Boy with the Light-Blue Eyes by Thanasis Neofotistos. Ioanna is a Producers on the Move 2022 and EAVE Producers Workshop alumna and currently completed ACE Producers Workshop 2025–2026. She also serves on the Board of the Hellenic Film Academy.

Konstantinos Kontovrakis has produced and co-produced more than 25 internationally acclaimed films, including Un Certain Regard winner How to Have Sex by Molly Manning Walker and Palme d’Or winner and Oscar nominated Triangle of Sadness by Ruben Östlund. He received the ‘European Co-production Award’ at the European Film Awards, in 2018. His latest film, the Greek debut Last Call directed by Sherif Francis and produced by Tanweer Productions, is the highest grossing title in the Greek B.O., for 2026 and he is currently in post-production of Sara Driver’s long-awaited feature fiction An Odd Enchantment.

Dionyssis Samiotis is a producer of over 30 feature films, including Valkanizater (1997), From the Edge of the City (1998) and Greece's highest box office hit, A Touch of Spice (2003). Heading Tanweer Productions, his respective films, My Name is Eftihia (2019), Smyrna (2021), Murderess (2023), and Stelios (2024) all came out on top of the domestic box office on their year of release. His television work includes mini period drama series 17 Threads & Rififi for COSMOTE TV, and international co-production So Long, Marianne. His latest feature films are Last Call, released in March 2026, Suitcase and Swell, to be released by the end of 2026.
