Thessaloniki Cinematheque: Greek Cinema as You’ve Never Seen It Before

The Thessaloniki Cinematheque returns for the 2026–2027 film season with an exciting programme of tributes, offering audiences in Thessaloniki the opportunity to enjoy exceptional and rare films in the magic of the cinema.

The Thessaloniki Cinematheque opens this year’s season with the tribute Cinema Rediscovered, a selection of 20 films from the screening programme of the Hellenic Film Academy, which travels across Greece, giving audiences the opportunity to discover fiction films and documentaries spanning from the 1950s to the present day, in an eclectic programme comprising five sections curated by distinguished figures from the world of cinema.

The screenings will take place at the Stavros Tornes and John Cassavetes cinemas at Warehouse 1 in the Port of Thessaloniki, from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October, with a total of 20 films being screened.
