Fossil by Henning Beckhoff

The Thessaloniki Film Festival joins forces with Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki for a special screening of Fossil by German director Henning Beckhoff, on Wednesday, May 13, at 21:00, at the courtyard of Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki (66 Vasilissis Olgas Ave.).

Admission is free for the public on a first come, first served basis. The film will be screened in German with English subtitles. A Q&A with the director will follow the screening.

Director Henning Beckhoff is the fellow of the “Berlin AiR: Berlin-Thessaloniki” residency programme of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg for 2025, in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Film Festival and Goethe-Institut, and is currently based in Thessaloniki.

Fossil, which premiered in 2023 and received the FIPRESCI Award at the Munich Film Festival, explores the clash between the human need for stability and the violent transition towards a new energy and social reality.
