5th Evia Film Project: Films, Open Discussions, Educational Workshops

Films directed by beloved Greek filmmakers, classical world cinema gems, exciting adventures, thrillers and love stories that unravel in impassable lands of dense vegetation are lining up at the 5th Evia Film Project, carried out with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture from June 23rd to June 27th, 2026.
In addition, distinguished guests from the field of culture will take part in open discussions that accompany the films screened with a free admission at the open-air cinemas “Apollon” in Edipsos and “Elymnion” in Limni, whereas a special screening will be held at the central square of the village Rovies. Moreover, the audience will have the chance to take delight in a series of unique VR films at the Kyma info point in Edipsos. Last but not least, the Evia Film Project is hosting once again a series of educational workshops for children and teens.

On Saturday June 27th, at 21:30, the films made by the participants of the teen workshop held from June 24th to June 26th will be screened at the open-air cinema “Apollon” in Edipsos. Moreover, for the entirety of the 5th EFP, a series of VR films will be screened at the Kyma info point, in Edipsos (working hours: 12:00-15:00 & 17:00-21:00).
Open Discussions
Accompanying the films screened at the 5th EFP a series of open discussions will be held with the audience and students from the Department of Digital Arts and Cinema of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, based in Psachna. The discussions will take place at the “Melina Merkouri” Cultural Center in Edipsos.
Workshops for Children and Teens
The Evia Film Project is welcoming yet for another year children and teens in a series of exciting educational programmes held at the Youth Municipal Library of Istiea-Edipsos. The workshops will introduce us to cinema treasures, leading us to create our own proper heroes and stories.

The Evia Film Project is carried out by the Thessaloniki Film Festival, funded by the Ministry of Culture. Valuable is the support offered by COSMOTE TELEKOM, the Festival’s Grand Sponsor, and Fischer, which consistently supports the Festival.
