Seated behind Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi architect of the Holocaust, in a crowded bus rolling through 1960 Buenos Aires, Mossad special agent Zvi Aharoni was confronted with the hair-curling “banality of evil.” His mission went far beyond the duty of tracking down a fleeing criminal: it was a battle against impunity and oblivion, an oath of respect towards the countless victims of the most hideous atrocity ever committed by humankind.
