De grote vakantie

Dutch documentarist Johan van der Keuken is informed that his days are numbered due to carcinoma in the prostate and he decides to spend his remaining time travelling with his wife while filming this experience. A project deeply personal, yet of epic proportions, that balances between coping with the inevitable and the hidden hope for a second chance, through images that bind together different kinds of treatments, from Bhutan’s spirituality all the way to Western rationality, while composing an art manifesto that equates life with art.
