Thessaloniki International Film Festival celebrates the 4th European Cinema Night, with the free screening of the film An Officer and a Spy, directed by the tireless cinema master, Roman Polanski. 

Agora Docs is an inseparable and invaluable part of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and has established itself as a meeting hub between directors, producers and buyers from all over the world, promoting and supporting documentary film throughout all production stages. Agora Docs returns for the upcoming 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, held from March 10-20, 2022. 

Raúl Mora, editor of the super-hit TV series La casa de papel, gave a masterclass on collaborative editing in fiction, on Saturday 13 November, at Pavlos Zannas theater, as part of the tribute “In the Cut: Editing and its Secrets” hosted by the 62nd TIFF. In the opening of the event, he thanked Thessaloniki International Film Festival for the hospitality, explaining that the job of editor is not as recognized as it deserves.

The presentation "Together Apart: VR Cinema Experience" took place, within the framework of the 62nd Thessaloniki International Film Festival at Pavlos Zannas Theatre, on Friday November 12, unveiling a unique experience of interaction using virtual reality (VR) headsets. Viewers, in different locations wearing the special headsets, are transferred to a virtual cinematic environment, where they watch a cinema projection together as avatars. The film taking part in this special screening, held with the collaboration of Arx.net, was no other than the short film Afterimage by director Antonis Doussias

Experienced editors Anne Østerud and Janus Billeskov Jansen delivered a seminar on editing of the film Another Round, as part of the "In the Cut: The Editing and its Secrets" tribute, hosted by the 62nd TIFF, at the packed Pavlos Zannas theatre, on Saturday November 13. The Danish duo of editors invited the audience to the innermost of the editing process of this film, decoding step by step the path they followed, through the projection of scenes and videos. In the end, they surprised the viewers by showing an alternative last scene of the beloved film that never found its way to the big screen.

In the frame of the 62nd Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the screening of the film When Mercury Held His Breath: The Battle of Crete, directed by Victoria Vellopoulou and produced by COSMOTE TV, The Grand Sponsor of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, took place at warehouse D, on Friday November 12.
