The audience of the Thessaloniki Festival had the opportunity to enjoy the masterpiece Solaris (1972) by Andrei Tarkovsky on the big screen, in a screening that took place on Saturday, November 6, at the Pavlos Zannas Hall. As part of the Festival's great tribute to editing, entitled "Cut something: Editing and its secrets", nine leading editors from Greece and all over the world received carte blanche to choose a film they consider iconic for the art of editing or for the development of their own career. Editor Roland Vajs, who has collaborated with directors such as Martin Scorsese, Ang Lee and Michael Moore, chose to present to the audience the unforgettable space epic movie of Andrei Tarkovsky.

The Agora of the 62nd Thessaloniki Festival kicked off with Crossroads Co-production Forum, which took place on Saturday, November 6, at Frida Liappa theater, at the Port. The producers of the selected film projects still underway had the opportunity to present and discuss their projects with co-producers, distributors, sales agents and prominent experts from several fields of production.

Agora, the developmental branch of the Festival, presented Works in Progress on Saturday, November 6, at Frida Liappa theater, at the Port of Thessaloniki. Eight (8) projects participated, among which we encounter two Greek projects. Yianna Sarri, the head of the Agora, gave the floor to Orestis Andreadakis, the Artistic Director of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, to preface the Works in Progress of Agora. Mr. Andreadakis welcomed the audience and talked about our long absence from the movie theatres. "It was a long road and a difficult time, but we are here and we are together again," he said.
