As part of the 24^th TDF Agora Docs, the presentation of the section Meet the Future took place on Tuesday, March 15th in Warehouse C. Meet the Future is an initiative aiming at showcasing and promoting the work of emerging talent from our greater geographical region. In this year’s edition, five up-and-coming women documentary filmmakers from Georgia had the opportunity to promote their work via the screening of short clips and shots. The filmmakers that participated in the presentation were: Tamta Gabrichidze, Ketevani Kapanadze, Elena Mikaberidze, Shorena Tevzadze and Maradia Tsaava. The talk was coordinated by producer Rea Apostolides. During the event, a 2-minute extract from each project was screened.

Like every year, the Agora Talks of TDF’s Agora Docs invite experts to share their technical advice and experiences with the accredited members of the Festival. On Monday March 14^th, in Warehouse C, the conversation revolved around the mapping of European documentary and its needs, in an event co-hosted with the Documentary Association of Europe DAE and the Greek Documentary Association. The event’s speakers were: Józsa László - Speak Easy Project, Hungary, Marco Gastine – Greek Documentary Association, Lucia Pornaro - Doc/It, Italy, Martichka Bozhilova - Balkan Documentary Centre, Bulgaria, and the coordinator Selin Murat, DAE, Germany.

Bonnie Williams (Pitch & Public Speaking Coach) delivered a talk titled “Mastering the Fine Art of Festival Networking”, carried out on Tuesday March 15^th, at Warehouse C, as part of the Agora of the 24^th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, revolving around the skills for successful and easy networking.

In a heart-wrenching evening event, full of emotion and intense feelings, the film The City and the City by Christos Passalis and Syllas Tzoumerkas returned to its… city, following its world premiere at Berlinale’s Encounters competition section, was screened within the framework of the 24^th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, on Tuesday March 15, in the overflowing Olympion theater.

French documentary filmmaker and sound artist Frédérique Pressmann delved into the evolution, the tools, the particular features and the various genres of sound documentary, as well as the differences between sound and film documentary in the masterclass “Writing with Sounds” she delivered on Tuesday March 15, at Pavlos Zannas theater, within the framework of the 24^th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
