A rich cinema week!

A cinematic week for every taste comes together at the TFF’s theatres , bringing together three new releases, a double screening from the Black Fridayssection, drawing us into the dark world of one of cinema’s most compelling villains, and the regular rendezvous of young film lovers with Kids Love Cinema.

A closer look:

A dense and finely expressive work, Kokuhomarks Sang-il Lee’s breakout success, a true box office phenomenon that broke a 22-year record to reach No.1 among Japanese live-action films in Japan, while drawing us into the world of traditional Kabuki theatre.

Both sharp and moving, Mario Martone’s Fuori is a film devoted to Goliarda Sapienza, one of the most important and radical voices in 20th-century Italian literature, with the luminous Valeria Golino in the leading role.

With a soft bittersweet tone, Francesco Sossai’s The Last One for the Road, which premiered in Greece at the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, moves through the mist-covered landscapes of the Veneto, carrying traces of retro warmth, quiet melancholy, sharp humour, and a subtle, nostalgic charm.

For the Black Fridays closing night (Friday, April 24), audiences can look forward to a thrilling cinephile evening, as the legendary The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Jonathan Demme and its sequel Hannibal (2001) by Ridley Scott screen back to back at the Olympion theatre, at 20:30 and 23:00.

Full of humour and feeling, Dean Fleischer Camp’s Lilo & Stitch, a live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, finds its place in the regular Sunday rendezvous of young film lovers with Kids Love Cinema (Sunday, April 26).
