The International

In 1982, a group of local musicians in Adiyaman, southeastern Anatolia, can not earn their living due to the curfew implemented in those years, and they finally end up in jail.The martial law commander of the region decides to create a “modern orchestra” with these local street musicians, and the tragicomic events begin.They decide to prepare a welcome ceremony for the members of the Council who will visit the town.Meanwhile,Haydar, a university student, is planning a protest and Gulendam, daughter of Abuzer the conductor of the “modern orchestra”, is assisting him.A surprise is on the way, which will occur as these two preparations collide.

Sirri Sureyya Onder was born in Adiyaman, Turkey in 1962. He works as a scriptwriter, writer and consultant for feature films and TV serials. The International is his first feature film as a scriptwriter and director.He teaches Scriptwriting and Writing at the Scenario Studio.

Muharrem Gulmez

Muharrem Gulmez was born in Ankara,Turkey in 1968. He graduated from the Film & TV Department of Dokuz Eylul University in Smyrna. Since 1990, he has worked as an assistant director and a producer for many international and local feature films and TV serials. The International is his first feature film. Currently he is preparing a new TV serial.
