The World of Jacques Demy

After shooting Jacquot de Nantes, a fiction film about the childhood years of director Jacques Demy, Varda craved to make a more distanced documentary on the life of the director as an adult. A unique document of the ambiance of the Parisian “Left Bank,” through rare footage from their family archive and interviews with people like Catherine Deneuve, Anouk Aimée, and Michel Piccoli, that remains deeply personal and reminds us the reasons to revisit Demy's oeuvre.
