Kinbaku – Art of Bondage

Kinbaku, “tight binding,” is a Japanese style of bondage which involves tying up using simple, yet visually intricate, patterns and several pieces of rope, usually made of hemp or jute. This documentary brings a 500-year-old tradition, which was initiated by the samurais on the battlefield and was implemented by the Shinto religion, closer to our culture, free from its exotic shield and telling of the essence of this mystic ritual. A study on the erotic, spiritual and artistic connection between the people who practice it.
