Jean-Pierre Dardenne
In 1975, the Belgian filmmaker brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne created Derives, a production company that has produced some sixty documentaries. In 1994, they set up the production company Les Films du Fleuve. They have won countless distinctions, including the Palme d’Or at the 1999 and 2005 Cannes IFF for Rosetta and The Child respectively. In 2008 they won the award for Best Screenplay at Cannes for Lorna’s Silence.
