In 1961, while en route to cease-fire negotiations in Congo, Dag Hammarskjöld, the Swedish diplomat who served as the second Secretary-General of the United Nations, died in a plane crash, the circumstances of which were unclear. Half a century later, fresh information has surfaced that could cast light on the crash. Trying to solve the mysterious death of Dag Hammarskjöld, this investigative documentary ends up revealing other larger-scale conspiracies and crimes.

Mads Brügger
Mads Brügger, born in 1972, is a Danish director and TV host. Brügger employs an unconventional approach to journalism and pushes boundaries to expose corruption and human rights violations, often in countries where the traditional rules of investigative journalism are not always applicable. His latest documentary Cold Case Hammarskjöld revolves around the tragic death of UN General Secretary Hammarskjöld at a plane crash, in 1961.
