The Inmate

Selda tells the story of Rommel, a young man who accidentally kills a boy, resulting in his incarceration. In prison, he befriends another inmate, Esteban, who becomes his rock and protector. Seven years later, Rommel is living in the province as a farmer together with Sita, his wife. Esteban tracks down Rommel in hopes of renewing a brewing love affair. Rommel and Sita welcome Esteban into their lives, until their intimacy crosses the limits.

Paolo Villaluna

He was born in 1977. He began his career in the theater, where he acted and directed plays before joining the Mowelfund’s Animation workshop in 1996 and Documentary Workshop in 2000. His first documentary, Margin (2000), screened in many international festivals and won many awards worldwide. He is currently the programmer for the country’s only arthouse theater, IndieSine.

Ellen Ramos

She was born in 1967. She was an architect and CADD specialist before she decided to study animation in a summer workshop at the Mowelfund Film Institute in 1992. She joined more workshops under German experimental filmmaker Christoph Janetzko. She also does graphic design work for cultural events, books, etc. "The Other Side of the Volcano" screened in various international film festivals and won the First Prize for Animation at the 1997 CCP Awards for Alternative Film & Video.
