The War of Independence

The Independence of Romania tells the story of the war in a few key episodes: villagers dancing and celebrating the harvest season? Penes and Rodica’s love story? the declaration of war? the troops’ departure? crossing the Danube? the fights? death of a hero? the valley of tears? the hospitals? the triumphs and the victory? Osman Pasha surrenders? Sergeant Penes returns home? the apotheosis. 35 years of independence celebrated with a military parade.

The film will be screened on the occasion of the screening of "The Rest Is Silence" by Nae Caranfil.
