Hidden Faces

Ali, who has been living in Germany for five years, has watched a documentary about “honor killings’’ and has found out that his niece Zuhre, whom he thought he had killed 5 years ago, is alive. Even though the woman’s identity and face is hidden on screen, he knows it is his niece Zuhre by the events she is narrating. There is only one thing left to do.To finish what has been left undone, that is, to kill Zuhre!

Handan Ipekci

After studying Radio and Television at the Faculty of Communication of Gazi University, she had her first experience of directing in 1993, when she made the documentary Song of the Kemence.The following year, she shot her first feature, Dad Is in the Army. Her latest feature, Hejar, won 21 awards around the world. It was released in Germany, the UK and Japan, and was shown on the WDR in Germany.
