Destiny

Bakir, a carpet salesman, is in love with Ugur, a nightclub entertainer. Ugur is obsessed with Zagor who is constantly breaking the law. One hot and stifling summer night, one thing leads to another and Zagor commits murder.That same night, Ugur disappears. Eventually relieved to be rid of Ugur, Bakir gats married and slowly turns his life around. A few months later, when Zagor receives a long prison sentence for his involvement in the killing of two policemen, Bakir is hopeful that his rival’s imprisonment will open up a possibility for him with Ugur. He begins chasing after her, picking up her traces in provincial nightclubs and seedy motels. Ugur goes after Zagor, Bekir goes after Ugur. Families are torn apart, children grow up like orphans, and yet innocence is never lost.

Zeki Demirkubuz

A film director, screenwriter and producer, he was born in Isparta, Turkey in 1964. He is a graduate of the Communications Department of Istanbul University. He first drew the attention of critics and audiences with Innocence and later with the Third Page. This was followed by the successful reception of Fate and Confession, both of which screened at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard. He has earned a number of awards, including the FIPRESCI award several times.
