DAMNATION

Karrer, a solitary middle-aged man, looks out of his window at the mine cars suspended along their cables, as they are swallowed up, one by one, by the fog. The unreal industrial landscape surrounding the mine is almost incredible, a product of the imagination. The story will unfold as seen through this initial melancholy and indelible gaze. Karrer's only firend in Willarsky, the owner of the "Titanic" bar and a smalltime crook. His sole passion is his hopeless love for the bar's married singer. Wishing to get rid of her husband in order to be alone with her, even just for a while, Karrer talks him into transporting some illegal merchandise for Willarsky...
