Film description
“I search my senses like an explorer of the poles. As soon as I discover an emotion, however small, even just a memory from the plethora of my past, I put it away carefully in a chest and I recode it like a gold miner in my log book...” Tonia Marketaki writes shortly before her death. It is from this chest that the documentary about Tonia Marketaki begins. Three films: Violent John (1973), The Price of Love (1983), Crystal Nights (1992); a TV series, The Lemon Grove (1977); a short film, John and the Road (1967); two projects for films that were never completed, The Man Who Disappeared (1976) and Kyra-Kyralina (1987); and then there’s her work in stage direction, translating, journalism, radio and interviews. A whole world of emotions and images that contain the passion that Tonia Marketaki had for creation and life.
