EUFORIA 2015-2016 PROGRAM:
EUFORIA STUDENT DIGITAL FILM PROJECT
 
The Thessaloniki International Film Festival presents the EUFORIA Student Digital Film Project, a special student documentary screenings event which will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 (13:00 CET) at TIFF’s Stavros Tornes theatre (Warehouse 1, Thessaloniki Port), as part of the European program EUFORIA 2015-2016 (Creative Europe-MEDIA).
 
EUFORIA (European Films for Innovative Audience Development) is an innovative Film Education project designed to support the idea of film in school, focusing on Secondary Education and offering a variety of benefits for Film Education in European countries.
 
The EUFORIA Student Digital Film Project includes 24 short documentaries directed by an equal number of groups of Secondary Education students from Greece, Poland and Hungary, which are the country-members that form part of the transnational collaboration network of the EUFORIA program.
 
The documentaries have a common topic: the development of contemporary urban landscape by projects that were subsidized by the European Union. The students recorded this subject on camera in their respective countries and the audience will have the opportunity to watch their documentaries in this special student documentary screenings event hosted by TIFF this Saturday, in Thessaloniki, Greece.
 
In addition, these documentaries will be uploaded at the FILM VAULT, EUFORIA’s online Film Education platform www.filmfestival.gr/euforiabeta, currently available in beta version and accessible gratis to the public. It is addressed to students, teachers, academics, researchers, film professionals, education counselors (Ministries of Culture/ Education), as well as film enthusiasts.
 
The Thessaloniki International Film Festival is the main administrator of the EUFORIA project, responsible for the organization, coordination and supervision of the program’s common activities applied by the Cinema Museum of Thessaloniki (TIFF’s educational institution), the University of Spoleczna Akademia Nauk – San in Poland and the cultural organization Laterna Magica Kulturalis es Oktatasi Szolgaltato Kft in Hungary.
