14th TDF: Regional Events

REGIONAL EVENTS

The 14th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival-Images of the 21st Century travels once again this year all around Greece, in collaboration with local authorities and the support of cultural organizations and Universities in the framework of its Regional Events. Regional Events are the communication channel between the Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki home location and the different regional cities. Through them, the festival intents to bring every documentary lover in touch with the current Greek and international documentary production.

From March 19 to April 16, 2012, 15 cities will host screenings of a compilation of films chosen among those participating in the 14th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. In particular, this year’s Regional Events’ destinations are Alexandroupoli, Amorgos, Veria, Volos, Iraklio, Kavala, Kastoria, Kilkis, Kozani, Lamia, Xanthi, Ptolemaida, Limnos, Hania and Florina.

For yet another year, the Regional Events program includes film screenings in penal institutions throughout the country, as an attempt for the festival to embrace destinations where images and messages are not readily available.

The detailed screening program for each city will be announced soon.
Regional Events are co-financed, among other actions of the 14th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, by the European Union-European Regional Development Fund, in the frame of the Regional Operational Program of Central Macedonia 2007-2013.
