METAMKINE
An exceptional experience for the public at the Alatza Imaret on Thursday November 19:
Metamkine, the famous French trio who organize experimental cinema live on stage, gave a unique performance in the context of the 50th TIFF Experimental Forum.
The Metamkine group -musician Jerome Noetinger and filmmakers Christophe Auger and Xavier Querel- made their first appearance in Thessaloniki.
They refer to their work as ‘musico-cinematic’ creations and they use celluloid, mirrors, projectors, live music, recorded music and sounds from music instruments to produce a new film for each one of their performances. Their radical self-inspired spirit combined with highly inventive montage on stage form the crucial elements in their work. These qualities set against the singular background of the Alatza Imaret gave their performance its unique character. The three artists received a long and warm applause on the part of the spectators who were lucky enough to be there.
