Pain and Glory
Pedro Almodóvar
A series of re-encounters experienced by Salvador Mallo, a film director on his physical decline. Some of them in the flesh, others remembered: his childhood in the 60s, when he emigrated with his parents to a village in Valencia in search of prosperity, the first desire, his first adult love in the Madrid of the '80s, the pain of the breakup of that love while it was still alive and intense, writing as the only therapy to forget the unforgettable, the early discovery of cinema, and the void, the infinite void, created by the incapacity to keep on making films.

La Belle Époque
Nicolas Bedos
Victor is a grumpy 60-year-old cartoonist who indulges in self-pity, convinced that his best days are behind him. Strained, weary and – most importantly – kicked out by his wife, Victor contacts a high-end troupe that stages insanely convincing reenactments of previous times, in order to relive the most significant moment in his life: the day he met his wife in a Lyonnaise café. A playful homage to cinema’s magical and cathartic powers that reminds us of fundamental universal truths; life’s beauty lies in its imperfections, love always depends on a willing suspension of disbelief, time is meant to slip through our fingers...
