The Festival’s official opening party will kick off with an electrifying live performance by twin sisters Olga and Niki Skiadaresi, the powerhouse Greek duo known simply as Skiadareses. Songwriters, performers, and actors, they’ve become a local viral sensation with lyrics that capture the spirit and struggles of a generation–raw, witty, and unapologetically real. Their sharp humor and infectious energy have turned every live show into a celebration of attitude and authenticity. Or, in their own words: “Once upon a time, there were the Skiadareses. And they lived happily ever after. That was the short version. If you want to hear the whole story, come to our live show.”

Kostis Maraveyas takes the stage at the iconic Eightball club with a brand-new set, designed especially for the venue’s unique atmosphere and the Thessaloniki Film Festival audience. Armed with his accordion, guitar, and keyboards, Maraveyas is joined by Demian Gomez on percussion and congas, Angelos Angelidis on electric guitars with a distinct oriental flair, and Nikos Angloupas on buttons, effects, and sound design. Expect a non-stop groove and infectious rhythm – from cumbia beats to remixed Ikariotiko – featuring the songs we know, love, and can’t resist dancing to.

The world-renowned Chinese-American composer, conductor, and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Tan Dun, is one of the foremost figures in contemporary classical music. An Oscar and Grammy Award winner for his score for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, he has also received numerous other prestigious distinctions throughout his career. His remarkable and wide-ranging body of work, spanning operas, orchestral and chamber compositions, and acclaimed film scores, has been performed by leading orchestras around the globe to great critical acclaim. Renowned for his innovative approach, he frequently integrates audiovisual elements into his compositions. His concert in Thessaloniki will continue this tradition, promising audiences a captivating and unforgettable experience.
