THE STRIKER WITH THE NO 9

Vassilis Seretis is a poor and uneducated twenty-year old. Armed with his only assets --a pair of strong legs and a talent for playing football-- Vassilis sets out to become a famous football player. His ambition is to appear on the front page of the sports papers and to be cheered by the crowds on the pitch every Sunday. Over the span of two years, he will go from Thessaloniki to Volos and from there to Athens, living a life of muddy football pitches, cheap hotels, "fixed" games, loneliness and casual relationships with all kinds of women.
