PLEASANT DAYS

A baby is born, in secret, on the floor of a launderette. Neither its 17-year-old mother, Maja, nor her married lover want to keep it. Maria, the manager of the launderette buys the newborn child in order to blackmail her lover into a more permanent relationship. Peter, Maria's brother, having secretly witnessed the birth while on parole from prison, is the only one, besides the two women, who knows the truth. He is attracted to Maja, but she is still recovering from giving birth and unable to escape her possessive and fiercely jealous lover, a shady scrap-yard dealer who runs a ring of car thieves...
