MADRE

Elena, a Spanish woman in her 40s, is living in France, where her 6-year-old son went missing ten years ago. She is an empty shell of a person, beaten by tragedy. Her attempt to pick up the pieces and carry on is put to a halt as she encounters a fragile teenager, who resembles her son. The torments of a traumatized mother and the painful coming-of-age of a troubled youth reach out to one another, in search of a sanctuary of closure.
