BOG OF BEASTS

He was born in Caruaru, Brazil. He began his work as an actor in a theater group and then he became involved in the cine-club movement, participating in the setting up of cine-clubs in numerous university departments together with local community organizations. In 1993 he produced his second short film, Soneto do Desmantelo Blue, about the Brazilian poet Carlos Penna Filho. Alongside his work as a director, he took on the production of a series of short films and documentaries from a new generation of Brazilian directors.With his first feature film, Yellow Mango, he got the public and critics on his side and won awards like the C.I.A.E. at Berlin FF and the Coup de Coeur at the Toulouse FF. Yellow Mango also screened at the 47th Thessaloniki IFF in 2006.
