28th THESSALONIKI INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL
5 MARCH → 15 MARCH 2026

Future Draft is an electronic duo based in Thessaloniki, composed of Evangelos Sarmanas and Konstantinos Tachas. Formed in 2019, their sound moves between electro, acid, breakbeat, and techno, blending analog synthesizers, modular improvisation, and live sequencing. Since 2022, they have performed exclusively with dawless, fully analog setups, allowing greater spontaneity, intensity, and direct connection with the audience. In 2023, they collaborated with Stereo Nova on a remix of the track “Iris,” released by Sky Vector Music.

Party celebrating the screenings of two documentaries on Berlin’s club scene: KitKat Club – Kinks of Berlin and B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West Berlin in the Festival’s official selection.

Greece Goes Modern is not only Mimis Plessas’s legendary album but also the inspiration behind a vibrant DJ project by Andreas Mitrelis (Veego Records) and Christos Sotiropoulos (Mono Record Store). Their joint sets are more than just entertaining. They’re nostalgic, educational, and deeply celebratory of Greek music across the decades. Blending pop sensibilities with timeless melodies, the duo curates tracks that span generations: from Marinella and Aleka Kanellidou to Michalis Rakintzis, Pan Pan, The Olympians, Rififi, Kore Ydro, Vlassis Bonatsos, Eleni Dimou, and Nalyssa Green. From the groovy shakes of the 1960s and the unapologetic hits of the 1980s to the rock of the 1990s and today’s Greek pop and rap, Greece Goes Modern is a danceable journey through the country’s musιcal evolution, one that brings back memories while keeping the rhythm of the present alive.

The Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival celebrates cinema with a special Oscars® Night at Olympion, beginning with the screening of the Academy Award–nominated documentary Mr. Nobody Against Putin by David Borenstein, co-directed by Pavel “Pasha” Talankin. The screening will be followed by an Oscar-themed party across the Olympion complex, featuring DJ sets inspired by film soundtracks, themed cocktails, Fischer beer, and Jameson Black Barrel. Optional black tie is encouraged for those who wish to add a touch of glamour to the evening. The evening continues with the live broadcast of the 98th OSCARS® ceremony from Los Angeles, presented in collaboration with the Festival’s Grand Sponsor, COSMOTE TELEKOM, and broadcast in Greece exclusively on COSMOTE TV, the only Greek network present on the Oscars® red carpet. Recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as an Oscars®-eligible festival, the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival offers its International Competition winner the opportunity to be considered for the Academy Award for Best Documentary.
*Free admission on a first-come-first served basis. The closing film will end around 22:00 and the live broadcast will begin at 22:30.
