Selected Greek Docs from the 28th TIDF travel in many Greek cities

The Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival continues its regional screenings across cities in Greece through the initiative Destination - Journey.

A significant part of the Greek programme of the 28th TiDF travels throughout the country, strengthening cultural decentralisation and carrying the atmosphere of the Festival beyond Thessaloniki. Screenings take place in film clubs and cultural institutions, in collaboration with local cultural organisations and municipal authorities. At the same time, the Festival also holds screenings in correctional facilities across Greece.

Launching in April and unfolding through autumn 2026, the initiative brings together 44 Greek films from the programme of the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.

Thought-provoking, seat-gripping and up-to-the-minute, Greek documentaries draw their strength from personal testimonies and narrations, and reflect all social turbulences and dynamics of our times. Personal glances that cross paths with collective memory, portraits of artists and people moving on the margins, stories of female emancipation, the human body put to the test and identities placed under negotiation, the everyday reality of the urban metropolis and life in the periphery, as well as the insightful recording of present-day social tensions, make up the mosaic of Greek documentaries.
