I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU ΜY HEART FOREVER ΖΗΤΑ-ΜΙ

Greece 2011 83 Blue Ray Color-B&W

Film description

Zita-Mi was established in 1955 by Pavlos Zannas and Alexandros Mavrokordatos. At first it sold Olivetti typewriters, records of classical and jazz music, and objects of art. For the generation of the 60s, the Zita- Mi is a symbol, a meeting point for poets, film lovers, and intellectuals. The Thessaloniki Film Festival, the “Techni” Macedonian Art Association and the “Democratic Defence” were all conceived on its premises. In the 1970s, Maro Layia and Katerina Kamara transformed Zita-Mi in to a gallery. 320 exhibitions of the work of pioneers, rebels, perfectionists, and self-taught painters, find a warm welcome there. The Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art was also born here. During its 55 years, Zita-Mi was an open window to all new or different ideas in Thessaloniki, gathering the intellectual and political elite of the city and contributing to its cultural development.
