The subject of this short film is loneliness and the search for love and companionship. Gösta is a four-year-ols bulldog, weighing about 75 pounds. Lennart is in his fifties, an opera singer, who has broken up with his boyfriend and has been experiencing tremendous loneliness. After the breakup, his friends called him more and more infrequently; Lennart felt increasingly abandoned. Until he found friendship and comfort in Gösta, who is always there for him. Scenes of the two of them going for a drive and playing on the beach are shot in the lyrical style of old movies, with a yellow filter and an evocative soundtrack. This tale about a man and his dog underscores everything that love is about. Looking after Gösta, playing with him and cheering him up when he is sad has brought meaning to Lennart’s life and has made him happy again.
