DIRECTING HELL

This documentary about multi-awarded Greek film director and author Nikos Nikolaidis is an effort to decipher his unique and rare personality, his universe and symbols. Famous for his controversial characters, Nikos Nikolaidiis created films that still shock and provoke. During an era when political visions had begun to fade, he offered a dark and pessimistic present, where hope and redemption can be found only in the death of his heroes. Collaborators, friends, archival footage from the making of his films, clips from his films and the director himself attest to the changes Nikos Nikolaidis brought about to film, what he had to offer and continues to offer to the art of cinema.
