FFGR

OUR PEOPLE
One of TFF’s priorities is to cultivate and develop green skills for staff and collaborators and embed sustainable clauses in the job descriptions and roles of employees.
GREEN OFFICER & GREEN TEAM
TFF’s environmental policy aims at a horizontal application of sustainable thinking and practice in all decision-making processes of the Festival. Gradually, we are revising internal procedures, updating work protocols and re-evaluating priorities – based on the carbon footprint study and the recommendations report, and in consultation with staff and Green Team members.
In order to achieve this change of internal culture, one of TFF’s priorities is to cultivate and develop green skills for staff and collaborators, embed sustainable clauses in the job descriptions and roles of employees, as well as in the contracts of external partners.
- A Festival executive has assumed the role of Green Officer/Coordinator and a Green Team was formed (greenteam@filmfestival.gr), with the participation of staff members from across the organization – administrative, technical and creative areas.
- Introductory training seminars on environmental issues and sustainable cultural management have been offered to all employees, collaborators and partners, as well as to the festival volunteers.
- A series of individual advisory-educational workshops (thematic seminars) with the Green Team, employees and partners involved in specific parameters of the program was held, on the following subjects: policy-strategy, legal & ethical issues in regards to environmental sustainability and sustainable management, energy & water management, materials & waste management, procurement, digital footprint & digital sobriety, travel & offsetting, communication & outreach. Similar workshops are scheduled at regular intervals, depending on the needs and the latest developments.

- Access is provided to additional relevant training material, good practice guides, case studies from the cultural sector internationally, while regular updates about climate issues and innovations in sustainability are shared among staff members.
- Special emphasis is placed on training and compliance with the general framework of the Green Deal and individual policies, e.g. EU: Green Procurement, Greening Creative Europe, as well as on carbon offsetting frameworks and best practices to avoid greenwashing.
