The Ruthless

Stathis Kougias has just been released from prison and has once again taken over the leadership of the gang. Only this time he organizes it on a different basis. They forgo robberies and small-time scams and, acting methodically, they exploit the pain and hopes of ordinary people.At the same time he continues looking for his mother, Maria Kougia or Rosa, who abandoned him in an orphanage during the German occupation. Finding his mother makes him change his attitude to life and he quits the gang.The other members bide their time hoping that very soon he’ll be back and ready for action again.

Dinos Katsouridis

He was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1927 and studied Economics and Film at the Stavrakos Film School in Athens. He began his career as a still photographer and assistant cinematographer. From 1951 to 1959 he worked at the Finos Film studios, initially as an assistant and later as a cinematographer and editor. He turned to directing in 1960. In 1969 he founded his own film production company and lab together with Thanassis Vengos.
