In and Out of Fashion

This film is an explosive collage that mixes excerpts from William Klein’s feature films, his documentaries, his photographs both as a journalist and fashion photographer, costume designs (created by his companion Jeanne), commercials, as well as the first footage he shot backstage in the world of high fashion – Yves Saint Laurent’s debut.William Klein comments on his artistic career, recalls his In and Out moments in the world of fashion, as well as the In and Out moments in understanding his artistic career. As is evident from the newly found interest in all aspects of his work, his innovations and influences are today decidedly In.
