Maydays

A documentary about May 1968. At the request of students occupying the Sorbonne, William Klein filmed events in Paris’s Latin Quarter. This footage was intended to be used as part of an umbrella film about May 68 which was never completed at the time. The film is given over to the people who, in normal times, barely have any contact with each other and can suddenly express themselves. We listen to workers, housewives, waiters, store owners, immigrants, pensioners, yuppies, bosses, angry young men and women of every political tendency, whose passionate discussions ebb and flow across the city. Good intentions, rumors, revelations, wild dreams and speeches, incisive and farfetched analyses, plots, confessions, crises of conscience... Talking and talking into delirium.
