The Model Couple

Electronic happiness, a huge farce. What will the French be like in 2000? To what extent can we handle them, program them? In order to come up with the answer the Minister of the Future selects a model couple, Jean-Michel and Claudine, and sets them up in an antiseptic “happiness capsule”, an apartment in which every part of their life can be monitored, located in the center of “a new city for the new man” that is under construction. “What do these tests hope to achieve? What games do scientists play? Successive dramatic twists up to the last joke, an incredible pie-throwing contest. The experiment ends in violence, like every triumphant initiative of our liberal society.”
